Our office uses modern, state-of-the-art technology to enhance patient comfort and to help you get the smile you deserve! We provide the following services:
- Full Exams: A complete dental exam consists of full mouth radiographs and the evaluation of the patients teeth and the soft tissue supporting them. Charting existing teeth, restorations and decay. Soft tissue evaluation of pockets between the teeth and gums, mobility of the teeth, oral hygiene and soft tissue cancer screening.
- Thorough Cleanings: (aka: prophylaxis) A procedure where plaque and calculus also know as tartar is removed from the teeth above the gum line. This is also combined with coronal polishing of the teeth.
- X-Rays: Radiographic, or X-ray, examinations provide our staff with an important tool that shows the condition of your teeth, its roots, jaw placement and the overall composition of your facial bones. X-rays can help us determine the presence or degree of periodontal (gum) disease, abscesses and many abnormal growths, such as cysts and tumors. X-rays also can show the exact location of impacted and unerupted teeth. They can pinpoint the location of cavities and other signs of disease that may not be possible to detect through a visual examination. In most cases, new patients require a full set of mouth X-rays to evaluate oral health status, including any underlying signs of gum disease, and for future comparison.
- Fluoride Treatments: Professionally administered topical fluorides are applied by our dentists and left on for about four minutes during a cleaning treatment.
- Tooth Whitening / Bleaching: This is the removal of stains and dark colors in the teeth by using an oxidizing agent (peroxide gel) in a custom tray that fits the individual patients teeth. White strips are also used to bleach teeth but do not removed serious stains.
- Children's Dentistry: As general dentists we pride our practice on having a relationship with the entire family and therefore has a great deal of family history knowledge. Dental problems often start early in life, so the sooner we can examine your children, the better. Also, we can provide or recommend special preventive care to safeguard against problems, such as baby bottle tooth decay, teething irritations, gum disease, and prolonged thumb-sucking.
- Sealants: A dental sealant is a thin plastic film painted on the chewing surfaces of teeth to prevent cavities. We can apply sealants easily, and it takes only a few minutes to seal each tooth. Sealant treatment is painless and takes anywhere from five to 45 minutes to apply, depending on how many teeth need to be sealed.
- Cosmetic Dentistry: From subtle changes to major repairs, we can perform a variety of procedures to improve your smile. There are many techniques and options to treat teeth that are discolored, chipped, misshapen or missing. We can reshape your teeth, close spaces, restore worn or short teeth or alter the length of your teeth. Common procedures include bleaching, bonding, crowns, veneers and reshaping and contouring. These improvements are not always just cosmetic. Many of these treatments can improve oral problems, such as your bite.
- Non-metallic tooth colored fillings: These are resin.glass fillings that look like the color of the natural tooth. These are bonded to the tooth in a multi step process. They can reshape and rebuild the teeth to fix cosmetic flaws.
- Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas): Nitrous oxide or "laughing gas" is used to achieve comfortable sedation with minimal side effects. All bodily functions remain normal and the person is able to breathe on his or her own.
- Root Canals: We perform root canals to save damaged teeth. The diseased or damaged pulp is removed by cleansing and reshaping the canal. The canal is filled with a rubberlike substance called gutta–percha or another material to prevent recontamination of the tooth. The tooth is then permanently sealed, with a crown made of porcelain or metal alloy. This enables our patients to keep the original tooth.
- Crowns / Bridges: A crown is a restoration that covers, or "caps," a tooth to restore it to its normal shape and size, strengthening and improving the appearance of a tooth. Crowns are necessary when a tooth is generally broken down and fillings won't solve the problem. If a tooth is cracked, a crown holds the tooth together to seal the cracks so the damage doesn't get worse. Crowns are also used to restore a tooth when there isn't enough of the tooth remaining to provide support for a large filling, attach a bridge, protect weak teeth from fracturing, restore fractured teeth or cover badly shaped or discolored teeth.
- Implants: We offer an extensive assortment of bone-level and tissue-level dental implants for all indications, bone types and surgical protocols, to satisfy every selected treatment concept.
- Oral Surgery / Extractions: The removal of diseased, decayed, infected, impacted or non-restorable teeth. We also do biopsies of suspect tissue, remove cysts, expose impacted teeth for orthodontic eruption and place dental implants to replace missing teeth and/or secure dentures. In certain instances, we also graph bone to help restore ridge shape to allow placement of implants.
- Dentures: A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and the tissues connected to those teeth. It is made of acrylic plastic and sometimes porcelain and metal materials. A denture closely resembles natural gum tissue and teeth.
- DIAGNOdent: The DIAGNOdent is a new high tech laser system that aids in early diagnosis of cavities in the complex anatomy of the chewing surfaces of teeth. It utilizes laser light of a defined wavelength to help detect and quantify demineralized tooth substances without x-ray exposure.
